Fraters,
My name is Steve Dellapi (Spring ‘18) and I am a Junior Accounting major from Franklin Lakes, NJ, and TKE’s current THON Chair. I am reaching out to the Alumni of Pi Chapter to update you on our recent THON efforts and updates. This year, the dancer representing TKE and dancing for 46 hours will be Frater Preston Kidder (Fall ‘16) from Erie, PA. We were paired with Tri Sigma for THON 2020, a recently formed sorority at PSU. Additionally, we were matched with a family through Four Diamonds. Our THON child, Isabelle Miller, is 6 years old and was diagnosed with an optic glioma. She has a tumor behind her eye causing partial blindness, but thankfully it is now benign. Isabelle is the inspiration behind our fundraising efforts, as well as the many kids battling cancer. This year, the dancer representing TKE will be Frater Preston Kidder (Fall ‘16) from Erie, PA.
Thanks to the support from individuals like yourself, THON has continued to grow as a yearlong fundraising and awareness campaign committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Since 1977, student volunteers, alumni, and supporters have worked tirelessly so that one day we will dance in celebration of a cure. This year is no different, as the brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity support THON by fundraising so that no family sees a bill and can focus on being by their child’s side during this difficult time.
I am committed to spreading THON’s mission even further in 2020. With your continued support, we can help to ensure that all children’s lives are shaped by beautiful moments. Please consider joining us in the fight against childhood cancer today by making a gift to THON in the name of Tau Kappa Epsilon. You can donate online at httpss://donate.thon.org/event/TKE or make a check payable to the “Penn State Dance Marathon.” Checks can be mailed to the chapter house at 346 East Prospect Avenue, State College, PA 16801.
On behalf of Pi Chapter and the entire THON community, we thank you for your support of our organization and the fight against childhood cancer. On February 21st, we will take a stance through our 46-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon to show the world what cancer cannot do.
If you have any further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected], or 201-663-1355.
YITB,
Steve
